Heartbreaking Finding Kai Lloyd's mother and father found his remains in his room at his Connah's Quay residence on November 19th, 2021. False Allegations Start The inquest learned how his parent received a message on 8 November 2021 via online platforms, from a individual inquiring if her son was her child. The message stated: "Inform him thanks for burgling my flat." In a statement presented to the proceedings, Lisa Lloyd said the individual had been in the news, claiming her infant's ashes had been stolen in a break-in - a allegation which was false. Police Inquiry An investigation report from police later concluded the alleged burglary complainant had "lied to police" and "it now appears that the items was never stolen in the beginning". Media reports about the supposed taken ashes generated social media comments, and although the teenager was not named in the posts, his mother said people "understood it was him". The "social media content were really upsetting", she stated. Mental Health Impact She added that Kai had been identified with moderate ADHD, and as part of that disorder, other peoples' views genuinely mattered to him. "This must have affected him severely," she commented, "especially when this was not true". Kai was arrested at his residence, but nothing was discovered. He was transported to a police station and later released under investigation. Authorities said they would be in touch, the hearing learned, but had not reached out to the family by the moment of his death. Withdrawal and Worry His mother said her son "withdrew into himself" after the detention and "repeatedly inquired me whether I had heard anything from the police", because his condition meant sometimes "certain periods could seem like much longer". When she spoke to him about the supposed incident, she said her child informed her he had entered the house because the woman who lived there had said he could utilize the bathroom whenever he wanted, but denied removing anything. Online Bullying In a combined testimony between her and her spouse, the mother said her son was being bullied online after the accusations. The inquest learned that a 19-year-old urged Kai to kill himself. She had no worries on the evening before he passed away, explaining how she had listened to him "chuckling and teasing". She described him as a "compassionate, loving" boy, and said her "relatives is totally shattered". He had been "clearly hiding his worries", she said, adding that he could not stand to have anybody "think bad of him". School Reaction The inquest received testimony from school personnel at Connah's Quay High School. On November 8th, she "heard some students discussing that Kai had been detained and that was the initial I heard". "He told me... he'd done nothing wrong," she added. After the discussion, the educator said she rang Kai's family landline and left a voicemail saying she had communicated to the student about the allegations. The court learned his family said they did not got that message.
