Being aware he was destined for Hell, he established communication with the afterlife beforehand to obtain a powerful role there. Rosie, who leads Hell’s cannibal community, vowed Alastor he would become “the most powerful Sinner in Hell” in return for his eternal spirit. This prompts an important query: How is Rosie powerful enough to elevate Alastor over every other Sinner Demons? “The agreement between Rosie and Alastor is the initial building block in a larger narrative that encompasses so much, moving into the third season,” the creator states. “Clearly that is a perfect question: How is she that powerful? The solution might be many things, but the answer is in season three. I am thrilled for fans to see it.” It is uncertain how long viewers will have to wait for Hazbin Hotel’s third season. The studios have green-lit seasons 3 and 4, but the creator frequently remarks that animation is a time-consuming endeavor, and later seasons are undated. In the meantime, the origin story episode provides a further look into what the core cast of Demonic Sinners appeared as as humans, following after seeing another character's historical human form in the second episode. She says that a lot of thought was put into these character designs. “The mortal forms of these personas hold great significance,” she says. “They vary from appearing really different from their infernal version to seeming very similar. With the first character, the initial design we see, there was some internal discussion internally between going with something that represents the personality, as opposed to going with an option that's very time-period accurate. We leaned toward creating something that just seemed like it was him.” Image: Prime Video She says the biggest debate over Pentious’ human design was his long hair: “We were like, ‘Nobody typically had extended hair of that style in that historical period.’ But at the same time, we think the silhouette is so important, and we also just felt he looked good. We were like, ‘This seems correct.’ We sort of gave the excuse that he's a hermit, so he just let his hair grow out. So there is always a solution. As we create the mortal forms of these personas […] it is a very enjoyable process to investigate and determine.
