Ex- National Football League signal-caller the retired athlete could face incarceration following receiving accusations with serious assault on Monday.

This accusation supplements several additional charges filed against him previously after a physical altercation earlier in the weekend. The legal counts were for physical attack resulting in wounds, public intoxication, and illegally entering a truck during the incident over the weekend that left Sanchez hospitalized with stab wounds.

The recent accusation involves a high-level criminal offense involving “serious bodily injury”, which can result in a incarceration period of multiple years and a monetary sanction of $10,000.

“Your identity is irrelevant. I don’t care what you do for a living. I don’t care where you live. If you enter our city and engage in violence, we will employ every available resource to hold you accountable.”

He suffered stab wounds and subjected to pepper spray by a senior driver amid the altercation in Indianapolis, where the former New York Jets star was set to analyze an professional game involving the Colts and Raiders that weekend. He is accused of approaching the truck operator, identified by initials in the legal report, at a loading bay adjacent to a hotel. The driver claims he was picking up used cooking oil from the establishment when the former player, who appeared intoxicated, tried to access the vehicle. The driver states Sanchez told him the manager of the hotel indicated they did not desire the collection of the oil.

PT said he believed his life was in danger and employed an irritant to defend himself. When the spray did not stop the former player moving toward him, he claimed he stabbed the former quarterback “two or three times”.
